About
The New Monday is a community that brings together individuals and organisations from TV, film and the wider creative industries to connect, collaborate, and grow. We’re run by a group of creative partners led by former investor and Producer Charlotte Scott, alongside Tell Studio, Fawkes Digital, and We Are The Allies.
Our mission
We found our partners at the Channel 4 grand opening in Leeds. We kept having the same conversation: creatives lamenting that there was no regular community group for creatives working in production for tv and film and related industries. Why didn’t we have a monthly meet-up where we could build our networks, share challenges and opportunities, and supercharge our careers?
So we started one.
Fast forward to today and we’ve hosted over 40 events across Leeds, Bradford and Newcastle for 1200k+ attendees. We have over 70 members in our online directory, and we’re continuing to grow.

Why we exist
28 Years Later, Adolescence, Arctic Monkeys… the North shapes global culture through iconic productions, talent and valuable IP.
Yet despite contributing over £108bn to the UK economy — including £13.48bn from TV and film — the Creative Industries remain undervalued. Nearly two-thirds of screen freelancers are considering leaving within five years due to economic instability, and creative businesses struggle to access and retain talent.
Meanwhile UK production spend hit £5.6bn in 2024, but over half is concentrated in London and the Southeast, side-lining regional potential.
The New Monday exists to change this. We’re building a creative ecosystem that empowers freelancers and businesses with the community, skills, and industry connections they need to not just survive, but thrive.
